Stark graduated from Starfleet Academy with advanced tactical training, including weapons training, hand-to-hand combat, advanced survival skills, strategy, and advanced piloting skills.

She served on the U.S.S. Kyushu as a security officer until it was destroyed at Wolf 359 and later aboard the U.S.S. Sutherland during the recent Borg incursion in the capacity of head of a security team.

Stark was offered a position with the Temporal Investigation Division and served there during the majority of the Dominion War, where she had an excellent service record and was just about to receive a promotion but due to missing life aboard a starship, applied for a post aboard an assault vessel and was offered a post on the U.S.S. Astoria.
